Oregon City School District Appoints Dr. Sarah Crane as New Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
April 2, 2024 - Oregon City School District is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Sarah Crane as the new Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, effective July 1, 2024. With a distinguished career in education spanning over two decades, Dr. Crane brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.
Dr. Crane's professional journey began in 2002 as a Special Education teacher in Alabama, followed by roles in both Texas and Oregon. She has served as a Special Education Coordinator and Director for InterMountain Education Service District (ESD), where she provided support and guidance to twelve school districts in areas such as special education services, behavior support, state reporting, and teacher training.
In addition to her extensive experience in special education, Dr. Crane has held leadership positions as a principal at Ione Community School and Jackson Elementary School in Hillsboro, Oregon. She supported the leadership at high school for greater access to career and college opportunities and improved graduation rates for students experiencing disabilities. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Schools in Hillsboro School District, overseeing middle and elementary school principals and school programs.

Dr. Crane expressed her enthusiasm for joining the Oregon City School District, stating, "I am honored to be a part of the team and grateful for the opportunity. It’s obvious that there is great work happening in the district and I look forward to connecting with students, staff, and community members in order to help support student success.”
